Dear Parents,
As we wind down to the year’s completion we would like to express our thanks and gratitude to all parents. We have had a wonderful year of learning and achievement in all areas of the children’s school lives, i.e. the academic areas, public speaking, the sporting arena, the performing arts, citizenship and leadership.
2010 Directions
As you can imagine, school enrolment numbers are very difficult to predict as houses continue ‘to sprout’ on the vacant blocks. At this stage we are likely to begin the year with approximately 400 children (an estimated increase of 25-30 on 2009 numbers). On these predictions the school’s structure for 2010 will be as follows:

Kinder/Year 1 – A. Gibbons
Years 1/2- A. Whittard, G. Harter
Years 2/3 – L. Weekes
Years 3/4 – M. Harding, J. Guyatt
Years 4/5/6 – L. Dunn
Year 5 – M. Roberts
Years 5/6 – C. Maclou
Year 6 – A. Smith
Preschool – B. Connor, D. Neich, R. Booley
Senior IM – K. Gehrke
Junior IM – E. Sinnott

Hats for 2010
In 2010 there will be a change in uniform policy. From Term One we will be strongly encouraging the wearing of the full school cricket style hat.
Term One will be a ‘transition time’ leading to Term Two when the wearing will become mandatory for all children playing in the full sunshine, i.e. those with no hats or wearing only a cap will remain seated in the shade.
The reason for this move is simple. We know that constant sun exposure on the ears and neck may cause skin cancer. The welfare of our children is of paramount importance to us, in both the long and short term durations of their lives.
I hope parents will not only understand but support our new policy. The cost of the hats is $10.00. They are available at school.
Should any parent find the cost of the hats too great please have no hesitation in seeking assistance.
School Holidays
Wednesday, 16th December will be the last day of school for the children. Teachers will continue on Thursday, 17th and Friday, 18th December. We will remain on vacation until Wednesday, 27th January (teachers).
The children will return on Thursday, 28th January. (Please note Kindergarten and Preschool children have received their designated times.)
We wish you the very best for Christmas, the holidays and time together. May all children return happily and safely after the holidays.
With my very best regards.
