Dear Parents, Caregivers, Students and Community Members,
Another week has passed and the end of term is quickly approaching.
Last week I attended a Sorry Day Service held at the Holy Trinity Church. The ceremony was moving and heartfelt. A highlight was the wonderful performance of the Sarah Redfern Senior Choir, performing the songs ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘Lean on Me’. I was a very proud principal. Congratulations to the students’ conductor, Erin Holohan, and Nicole Ede for their direction and support.
The school continues to be shuffled around with the building works being carried out. Presently, refurbishment has begun in Block D and the Hall. Classes who are in Block D are now situated in the demountables. The students are wonderful in their acceptance of the disruption that the movement has caused.
It is with sadness that we farewell Amy Smith this week. We thank Amy for the wonderful contribution she has made at Sarah Redfern over the past eight years and wish her well in her new position as Assistant Principal at St. Andrews P.S.
Zagorka Auld will teach 6S class until the end of Term 2. She has previously worked at our school on a casual basis.
Regards
Mick Aslanis JP

Kinder Excursion to Fairfield City Farm
Last Thursday, Kinder Red, Kinder Purple and K/1 Blue went on an excursion to Fairfield City Farm.
For our Kinders, this was their first ‘out of school’ learning experience and they thoroughly enjoyed it!
Farmer Justin and Farmer Tara showed us lots of cute farm animals. We got to milk a cow and watch a sheep being shorn. The whip show was amazing, especially when Nani and Zac got to have a go!
Thank you to our parents who supported this excursion 100%. Experiences like this are just so beneficial in maximising your child’s learning at school.

Gala Day Reports
Junior Soccer Team
During the first exciting match against Robert Townson P.S. the score was 0-0 but we still had fun. The second exciting match was against Minto P.S. and the score was 1-2. I scored the first goal even though we had only one count. That was an enjoyable match.
The Junior Soccer team didn’t care if they won or lost. The only important thing is sportsmanship and teamwork. We enjoyed our time at Jackson Oval.
By Isabella – 5R
Senior Soccer Team
The Senior Soccer team were undefeated on the day. Our first match was a draw 1-1 against Robert Townson P.S. Our second match was a friendly match and we won 2-1 against Liverpool West P.S.

Principal’s Message
Dear Parents, Caregivers, Students and Community Members,
This is only my third week and already I feel I have been here for a much longer period. Everyone has made me feel welcome and I certainly feel at home. On my classroom visits I continue to see great teaching and learning and all students being fully engaged in their learning. The other day I watched the Sarah Redfern Cross Country Carnival where I witnessed our students give it their best.
Sarah Redfern Public School continues to undergo work through the BER scheme. Some more classrooms have been refurbished while others are about to undergo their improvements. The hall is about to have a few cosmetic touches and the canteen will follow with a major refurbishment. I have appreciated the understanding and patience that our school community has shown in the much-needed facelift.

Notice to Parents
Please note, for security reasons, the school gates will be locked during the day as usual. They will be opened just before the bell.
Please do not use the Administration Office as a thoroughfare.
Would parents please be obliging and wait for the students in the allotted area, which is outside the Canteen. This may cause a little inconvenience but it creates a great deal of safety.
Many thanks for your co-operation.

Kinder Capers
Last Tuesday, 11th May, Kindergarten performed at the Infants Assembly. Children from Kinder Red, Kinder Purple and K/1 Blue sang “Old Macdonald Had a Farm” at the top of their lungs, imitating frogs, pigs, sheep, hens, cows and ducks!
The teachers would like to thank all of the supportive parents who were in attendance. We would also like to thank the hard working craft genius of Mrs. Donna Collier, who made the children so gorgeous to watch!

Book Club
The P&C are trialling Schalastic Book Club at our school with their June Issue, which will be sent home soon. This promotion will generate excitement around books and reading. It will offer age appropriate, high quality books at discounted prices. All orders placed will help our school to purchase more resources.
Children will be given a brochure each month detailing many books and other items available to purchase. They are very reasonably priced and make excellent presents as well as helping children learn.
If you wish to place an order, fill in the order form on the back of the brochure, listing the items you would like and place the order form with payment in an envelope, returning it to school by the due date. Payment may be by credit card, cash or cheque (made payable to Scholastic Australia).
Happy reading!

Principal’s Message
Dear Parents, Caregivers, Students and
Community Members,
Greetings from the newest person in the school.
I am currently finding my way around, meeting students, staff and the community of Sarah Redfern Public School. What I have already experienced are the lovely smiles and welcoming hellos from the students and best wishes from staff and community. Thank you for that. I look forward to an exciting and rewarding partnership with you all.
I would like to bring to your attention that I am a Justice of the Peace and will gladly witness signatures or sign documents for you. If you would like me to act as a JP please make a time at the school office for me to do so.
Refurbishment
The school continues to undergo major refurbishment and therefore, disruptions will continue for some time.
Classes began in the first of the completed classrooms this week. They look fantastic and we look forward to other areas receiving a much needed facelift.

Principal’s Message
Dear Parents,
Welcome back to Term 2. Here’s hoping that you and your children enjoyed each other’s company during the Easter break and that you managed to engage in activities that you could not normally do during school. Now we have to put our noses to the grindstone as this is an extremely important term. We have a new nose to add to the grindstone, that of Ms. Maryam Rasheed, who will be filling in for me.
Black Hats
The school black hats are now compulsory as part of our school uniform. Please ensure your child has their name clearly marked on their hat. Any child without a black school hat will have to stay in the School Hall at recess and lunch time under my supervision.
Swimming Scheme
Swimming Scheme commenced this week. Please ensure that all the necessary gear is sent to school each day to enable students to get the best possible instruction over the next two weeks. Lessons as normal for the students at school.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
During Week 2 parent/teacher interviews will take place. It is imperative that every parent meets with the teacher of their child/children and discusses important matters concerning their academic and social education. Every parent needs to know about their child’s performance, as parents, teachers and students are the vital stakeholders in this educational venture. Notes will be sent home this week with dates and times. If these are not convenient please contact the teacher to negotiate a suitable time.
ANZAC Day
Next Sunday is ANZAC Day and Monday, 26th April is a public holiday. Mr. Bland is organising an ANZAC ceremony for Friday, 23rd April at 2.00pm to commemorate this auspicious day Everyone is most welcome to attend and be part of this proud occasion.
Last, but by no means least, I have the great pleasure of announcing that Sarah Redfern Public School’s new principal is the honourable Mr. Michael Aslanis, who will commence his leadership on 3rd May, 2010. I was informed of this today by the School’s Education Director, Mr. Peter Phelps.
My rise to fame was extremely short lived. Nevertheless, it is an exciting time that we, the staff, students and community of Sarah Redfern P.S., welcomes our new principal.
Sarah Redfern school community would like to extend its condolences to Luce Dunn and her family at the passing away of her father on Friday, 16th April. Ms. Dunn will be back with us on Tuesday, 27th April.
On a more lighter note, Mrs. Nonenmacher gave birth to a bonny baby girl on Tuesday, 6th April. Both are doing extremely well.
The second stage of our building renovation will soon be taking place. The staff are ensuring that the students will be inconvenienced as little as possible and that learning programs will still be of an excellent quality.
Have a good fortnight.

NAPLAN 2010
The Australian Education Union (AEU), representing public school teachers and principals in every state and territory, has declared a moratorium on the implementation and administration of NAPLAN 2010 in order to stop the publication of league tables.
Staff at Sarah Redfern PS are not opposed to NAPLAN. Unfortunately, however, it is only by imposing a moratorium on NAPLAN 2010 that the data used to construct league tables can be denied.
Of course, should Ms. Gillard take action to stop the publication of league tables there would be no reason why NAPLAN 2010 could not proceed with adequate notice.
We thank you for your support in regards to this matter. If you wish to discuss this matter please contact Ms. Malclou.

Principal’s Message
It is with a heavy heart that I write my last newsletter as Principal at Sarah Redfern Public School. After eighteen wonderful years I will move on to another school in Term 2.
As I signalled last November, 2010 was deemed by the Dept. of Education & Training to be my last year due to the reduction in school enrolments. I had always hoped that greater numbers of new students might walk through our doors and, whilst I am sure that will happen sometime in 2011, it will not come in time to maintain my seniority. And so I decided to apply for a larger school, Canley Vale P.S., that was vacant.
Sarah Redfern P.S. has been the most amazing place to lead, nurture and develop.
Our children have character, spirituality and a genuine sense of fairness. Their consideration and care for one another is unsurpassed. It has been a pleasure to share their loveliness and to watch them learn and grow.
Working with the teaching, administration and support staff has been an absolute pleasure. Observing their growth and development and having a hand in their achievements is a point of great pride. – 6 teachers during my time are now Principals. Many others have become Assistant and Deputy Principals. Sarah Redfern is renowned for teacher development as well as improved student learning outcomes.
May I take this opportunity to thank the parents and community members who have always supported my decisions and actions. I know at times that the public spotlight on our school has been quite intense but the feeling of absolute confidence from the parents has encouraged greater advocacy.
I thank you for the privilege of working with your beautiful children.
And so I leave behind part of my heart and soul but take with me some wonderful memories.
While the selection process for a new principal takes place Clarice Maclou will fulfil the relieving position. A temporary teacher will look after 5/6M under Clarice’s supervision. It is most likely that the new Principal will enter on duty in Term 3. The fortunate person will come into a wonderful situation – the school is in ‘great shape’.
Good Kids’ Excursion
One of my great pleasures and last duties at Sarah Redfern P.S. will be to accompany the children to the Bike Track in Campbelltown on Monday, 29th March.
We congratulate these youngsters who have demonstrated many of the characteristics of responsible citizen-ship.
Easter Fair
We look forward to welcoming all parents, extended family and community members on Thursday, 1st April to join us for the Easter Fair. Many thanks to Nicole Ede, our ACLO, and members of the P&C who have been seeking donations and other support. Well done! Please remember that we will begin with a hat parade at 9.45am.
Have a wonderful holiday with your families and please return safe and sound. Teachers will focus on training in the area of higher order comprehension on Monday, 19th April. All children will return the next day – Tuesday, 20th April.
With my very best wishes.

Oztag Report
Last Friday, after a long, hot walk to Kayes Park, the senior Oztag team played five games. They won two and narrowly lost the other three games. Everybody played well and showed great sportsmanship.
The junior Oztag team played five games also. They won four and had a draw against Guise PS. Everyone had a lot of fun and played well together despite the heat.
When we finally made it back to school, after an epic marathon in the sweltering heat, Mrs. Gehrke and Mrs. Mitchell’s faces matched their school shirts. Mrs. Gehrke thought her feet were on fire! We were all so hot and tired we had to have a lay down in the cool of 6G’s classroom.

Softball Report
On Friday our girls softball team played two games. In our first game Michaela Eadie scored two home runs and Renee Muaulu pitched very well. Our score was 9 all.
In our second game Cristina Browne pitched 3 people out in a row and Lenah Yalayala had a turn at catcher.
In the boys first game they made 6 home runs and the score was 7-8 but unfortunately they lost. In their second game the boys made 9 home runs but lost the game 11-15 as well .
We would like to thank the girls who helped the boys in their game. We would like to thank our softball couch Mr. Roberts and a special thank you Priscilla Martin for coming down and helping out.

Principal’s Message
Many apologies that the newsletter is so late this week. The business of the school day (and night) has never been greater! The update is as follows:
Class Change
With an additional 20 children enrolling this year, as compared to last, we have moved into the band for an additional teacher. As our numbers are very near maximum in the junior part of the school we will create a class that will provide vacancies in the K-4 area.
We will complete the changeover by the end of term when a new teacher is appointed. An advertisement has been submitted to the Dept. of Education and Training.
All parents of children likely to be effected will be contacted by teachers.
P&C Meeting/Parent Workshop
Yesterday afternoon we met with parents to enjoy a workshop on ‘Spelling’. Marianne Lakeman, the Community Liaison Officer from regional office, led the activities and provided parents with a number of helpful ‘handouts’ to use at home.
We look forward to the next workshop on Wednesday, 9th June, when we will look at the ways children acquire skills in Mathematics. Melissa Harding, who has organised the workshops with Marianne, will prepare a ‘take home’ pack of activities for parents who attend. Many thanks, Melissa!
Following the workshop, parents met and voted for their P&C executive. The following parents will hold their positions for 2010 and 2011:
President: Charmaine Brown
Vice Presidents: Amy Garland
Liz Dean
Secretary: Skye Johnson
Treasurers: Marion Ison
Hayley Wilson
Congratulations, ladies! I am sure that their energies will support and sustain our school.
Hail Kim Soldo
Many, many thanks to Kim Soldo, who for more than a decade has given voluntary time to support our children, teachers and parents. Kim’s commitment and talent are outstanding. She has organised so many fundraising events and directed P&C support to critical areas of the school such as air conditioning, shade shelter, swimming scheme, camps, additional teacher time, excursions, reading material, maths resources and the list goes on.
Congratulations, Kim, on your outstanding role as President of our P&C and School Council.
Have a wonderful fortnight.

School Swimming Scheme (SSS) Yrs.2-6
Over 90 children took home an information and consent note last week. Please ensure your consent note is returned by Monday, 15th March. We need at least 75 children to attend the SSS, otherwise we will have to revert to one session with a maximum of 60 children.
Additional notes are available from Mrs. Boothe in the office. If your child lacks skills or confidence in the water they should attend. Total cost is $40.00.

Principal’s Message
Dear Parents,
How wonderful it was to return from leave and enjoy the induction of the Student Representative Council and the Sports Captains for 2010. Parents, teachers and students were equally proud of the young people who have been elected by their peers. (See over page for names and photos.)
Our Student Representative Council President is Ashika Jagdish and Vice President is Shagota Khan. We congratulate and pay homage to these wonderful young leaders.
School Swimming Carnival
Congratulations to Amy Smith and the team of teachers who organised our carnival. All events were run smoothly and our children gave their best effort to participate.
The following children swam very well. They will progress to compete at the Zone carnival on 1st March. Garry Bland will accompany the children.
Jordan Roberts Bentley
John Robert
Michaela Eadie
Atatu Phillips
Teancum Timu
Easter Fair
On Thursday, 1st April we will be holding our Easter Fair in the school grounds.
Festivities will commence with an Infants Hat Parade and continue throughout the day with rides, stalls, show bags, sausage sizzle and lots more.
If you are able to help with any donations of new or used items please send in to school as soon as possible. Please keep the date free to come and enjoy the fun of the fair with your children.
Submissions to the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Provision of Education to Special Needs/
Disabled Children
Many thanks to all parents who presented submissions and to the many more who are completing them. Please remember that without wide support the current funding for children with disabilities will remain inadequate.
Again our teachers presented at a forum of teachers, parents and principals organised by the NSW Teachers Federation on Monday evening. Their presentation was magnificent and proudly represented the Sarah Redfern P.S. community. We look forward to taking the next step of giving evidence at the Inquiry in March.
Many thanks to Amy Garland who represented our parent community. It was a ‘big ask’ for parents to watch/listen to the confronting information presented.
Kind Regards

First Confession & Holy Communion
Catholic children in state schools in Yr.3 or over are due to be prepared to receive the sacraments of Forgiveness and Holy Communion.
An enrolment and information meeting for parents will be held on Monday, 22nd February at 7.30pm in the Parish Centre of the Holy Family Church, Oxford Road, Ingleburn. Baptism certificates are required for enrolment. For enquiries, please contact Fr. Peter on 9605 2785.

School Parking
Please note that due to the new work being done in Guernsey Avenue parents can only park on the school side of the road. The opposite side has been blocked off and it is not safe to park there when dropping off or picking up your children.
Also, some parents have been parking up the driveway behind Preschool. This is an emergency access road into the school and it is illegal to block this roadway

Principal's Message
It is delightful to return to school to see the children looking so immaculate in their uniforms। They have settled beautifully into their new classes with only a few small changes to satisfy enrolment numbers। Last year’s predictions for numbers were within five
Please note an alteration to Mathew Roberts’ class which is now a Year 4/5 rather than only Year 5.
Parliamentary Inquiry into the Provision of Education to Students with Disabilities and Special Needs
The Inquiry was announced just before Christmas. Key stakeholders in education, including teachers and parents, are invited to make some input to the Inquiry. We have been reliably informed (by the principal solicitor from the NSW Disabilities Discrimination Legal Centre) that the greater the number of submissions received the better in terms of demonstrating the importance of the issue.
Please find included in this newsletter a proforma that lists the terms of reference for the Inquiry. Parents are invited to write their thoughts on one or more of the terms and then submit them to the Parliamentary Standing Committee.
The address is:
The Director,
General Purpose
Standing Committee No.2,
Legislative Council,
Parliament House,
Macquarie Street,
Sydney NSW 2000
Or please hand them to Maureen Boothe, who will post them on your behalf, (or fax to 9230 3416 or email gpsnco2@parliament.nsw.gov.au).
Principal’s Leave
I will be on leave for Weeks 3 & 4 and will return on Tuesday, 23rd February. Clarice Maclou will relieve as principal.
Staff Training
This week teachers will receive their training on the new services available to children who may be at risk of harm. As you may have read/heard in the media some changes were made last year as a result of Justice Woods’ Inquiry into the Provision of Care and Protection for Children/Young People.
Visit with the NRL All Stars
On Monday, thirty of our senior children attended a training session with the Rugby League All Stars team.
They participated in their training session, mixed with the players, listened to their advice and enjoyed being photographed with them.
Katie Galloway – 3/6K
It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that one of our teachers, Katie Galloway, will be leaving us.
She applied for a permanent position at Elderslie Public School and was successful at achieving this. (We train them so well at Sarah!) Congratulations Katie and best wishes for the future.
The teacher who will be replacing her is Elyse Waller, who is currently working in 5/6M while Mrs. McBride is away. She is an extremely capable and conscientious young lady who will perform her duties at a high level. Parents, who have students in Katie Galloway’s class, don’t be concerned as your children’s needs will be suitable catered for as we at Sarah are committed to ensuring this.
Have a wonderful fortnight.

Parking in School Zones
The safe conduct of motorists either driving through or parking in school zones is of paramount importance to our local community to ensure the welfare and safety of school children and other pedestrians during school starting and finishing times.
Please refer to the School Notice Board for parking and traffic offences in school zones and the maximum penalties and demerit points.

Swine Flu Vaccination
NSW Health is encouraging everyone to obtain a free vaccination against this potentially life threatening illness. The Panvax vaccine is available free from most general practitioners and Aboriginal Medical Services. Some community health centres and council immunisation clinics are also offering the vaccine free of charge. Call ahead to confirm the health service is vaccinating on the day you wish to visit.
The NSW Dept. of Education & Training is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working and learning environment for staff, students and visitors to schools. It is important a high percentage of the school not only protects those individuals who receive the vaccine, but also reduces the chance that any students or staff with a weakened immune system (for whom the vaccine may not work as effectively) will be exposed to the infection.

Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
A warm welcome to the 2010 school year. I hope that you all enjoyed a happy family Christmas and New Year. I have met with the teachers over the past couple of weeks and I can report that we are all excited and ready to begin a fantastic year.
As many of you have noticed, work has just begun on the senior block of classrooms. The area has been fenced (and all personnel have been screened) to ensure the children’s safety. Whilst we do not look forward to the disruption, the anticipated outcome of 22 refurbished classrooms, school canteen, hall and Kindy COLA will be worth it.
The outdoor Preschool play area was completed at the beginning of the holidays. It is magnificent! We how have a levelled play area covered in softplay, a sandpit with cover and umbrella to accommodate a whole class, and new play equipment. For those patient ex preschoolers (our new Kindies), who watched the construction work last term, we will give them some play time in the new area.
Academic Focus
Our major focus for attention this year will be in the higher order thinking area of comprehension. We want to nurture further progress in this area across all Key Learning Areas.
Generally, our children capably inter-pret literal comprehension questions. Like most children across the state, our students are weaker at seeking and finding deeper meanings.
We expect that our children will be able to predict, hypothesise, make and justify opinions and interpret nuance of language. Programs (Preschool – Year 6) have long been in place but require additional attention. We look forward to more children achieving the highest possible levels, beyond their stage of development.
Good Beginnings
For those new parents and/or those who wish to refresh memories – hints for a great beginning to school:
• ‘Talk it up!’ Children respond to your enthusiasm (or lack thereof). Encourage them to be excited about their new class/teacher/responsibilities.
• Label everything! Teachers will tell you sad stories about children losing new hats, jackets, jumpers, lunchboxes etc. Save yourself and your child from much anxiety. Believe me, this issue is not restricted to Kindergarten.
• Be prepared! Your child needs a lunchbox, drink bottle, pencil case and homework book. They will feel confident with the right equipment.
• Establish routines! Children develop best in predictable, structured environments where they have time for play, homework, hobbies and sleep (at least ten hours for the growing body).
• Provide healthy food! Please remember our school rule (recommended by health experts) only one non-nutritious snack per school day.
• Make note of our school phone number - 9820 1499 and our website -
www.sarahredfe-p.schools.nsw.edu.au
Please enter them in your mobile phone if you have one.
• Please check your child’s schoolbag for school communications! Newsletters are distributed on either Tues./Wed. of odd school weeks. Excursion notes are also sent home. Also the odd mouldy piece of fruit is best removed as soon as possible.
• Buy a school hat! They will be a mandatory component of the school uniform in Term 2. Protection of the ears and neck is essential. Please make the transition as soon as possible. Our children’s health is of utmost importance.
• Love them and leave them positively! Some little ones may become upset when it is time for mum or dad to leave (although over the past five years or so the only tears have come from the adults). If so, please listen to the teachers’ advice and leave when requested. So often the child settles a few minutes after your departure. If you are worried please call us and we will give you an update.
Australia Day Honours
It was a great pleasure and honour to attend the Australia Day Awards ceremony at Koshigaya Park on 26th January. Several of our students received nominations for the prestigious awards:
Jordan Roberts Bentley
Kara Oeurn &
Alafou Fatu
Nicole Ede, our outstanding Aboriginal Education Worker and Community Liaison Officer, was also nominated as Campbelltown Citizen of the Year.
We are very proud of our children and staff member. What a great way to begin the year!
Collecting Children
As a result of the building, some additional potential dangers have been added to the entrances/exits to our school. The entrance near the Passfield/Sarah Redfern teachers’ carpark is out of bounds. No children or parents should enter here. Trucks with cement, timber, resources, etc. will be accessing this area with heavy loads throughout the school day.
Please note that children need to be collected at the end of the school day (3.00pm) from the Canteen area. Parents with children may use the exit near the office. Please be aware that cars and small buses are near the gates. You will need to closely supervise the children.
The best exit/entrance for all children is Guernsey Avenue (near the Preschool), where they are escorted by teachers and crossed over by our RTA Crossing Lady, Jan Dovey.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Kind Regards

Cheryl McBride OAM
Active After School Communities Program
Will recommence on Tuesday, 9th February at 3.15pm until 4.15pm. This program provides physical activities for children to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Please contact Mr Bland if you would like your child to be involved. The program operates on Tuesday and Wednesday for 7 weeks.
Library
Please take note of your child’s library day and ensure that they bring along an appropriate library bag with their name and class clearly marked. This will enable your child to borrow books from the library to enjoy with you at home.
My School Website
Important Message for Parents
The MySchool Website
Following much controversy and attention in the media the MySchool website will be published today. The Years 3 & 5 children’s aggregated results from the 2009 national testing will be published online.
Our results will not compare well with many other schools. The reason for this is simple. Sarah Redfern Public School welcomes ALL children. As long as we can provide the appropriate resources for a child to participate effectively in our school they will be given the chance. We also host five classes for students with intellectual disabilities from across the Sydney South West Region. All those children are invited to complete the NAPLAN tests with their mainstream peers. Some parents encourage their participation, as is their choice and right. The fact that these children achieve in the lowest band of the test is not reflective of their perseverance and hard work but confirms what we already know – the tests are not designed for children with disabilities. Their optional inclusion is a government imperative.
When these results are added with the full Years 3 & 5 cohorts they give a misleading lower average. Unfortunately the results do not demonstrate how well our more academic and average students are performing. For example, I doubt there are many schools that can claim that 12% of their Year 4 students have gained entry or reserve to OC classes. We have also had outstanding results in the University of NSW academic competitions and several of our Year 6 students from 2009 won their way and will begin in selective high schools (sporting, performing arts and academically gifted) this week.
We must also remember that each year when the most capable move into OC our higher results are reduced. This will be of most impact this year when our highest achieving Year 5 students have moved on to the OC classes.
I believe that our children’s individual results reflect good progress, excellent teaching and quality education. I do not believe that the average of their results reflects these.
On Friday, we can anticipate that at least some elements of the media are going to further exaggerate the problem by adding the children’s average results in literacy and numeracy and coming up with a number that they will compare to other schools around Australia / NSW / Campbelltown. I am concerned that this may denigrate our school and our community. Parents, as ambassadors for our school, please tell the whole story.
I am genuinely sorry that we have come to such a situation. I am not sorry that we welcome ALL children.
Many thanks,
