The Australian Education Union (AEU), representing public school teachers and principals in every state and territory, has declared a moratorium on the implementation and administration of NAPLAN 2010 in order to stop the publication of league tables.
Staff at Sarah Redfern PS are not opposed to NAPLAN. Unfortunately, however, it is only by imposing a moratorium on NAPLAN 2010 that the data used to construct league tables can be denied.
Of course, should Ms. Gillard take action to stop the publication of league tables there would be no reason why NAPLAN 2010 could not proceed with adequate notice.
