Dear Parents,
On Wednesday, 10th June some of our school staff will be participating in a forum on the provision of support and resources for special needs/disabled children in Parliament House.
As a result of a survey of principals across NSW, conducted in March, a series of revealing issues emerged. We will be part of a group of professionals making an impassioned plea to government to uphold their legal/moral obligations to more adequately support these children.
I wish to recognise the courage and resolve of a number of our parents who have agreed to allow us to make a visual presentation at the forum. Wish us luck for a positive outcome.
New Position
The position vacated by Jodi Niedermayer has been advertised and applications close on Wednesday, 3rd June. We will be interviewing on Tuesday, 9th June with anticipated commencement as soon as possible. I will keep you informed.
Money Minder Training
Staff and parents will connect on Tuesday & Wednesday, 9th/10th June to examine and discuss aspects of Financial Literacy – a new course that nine of our classes are currently trialling. We look forward to sharing some new ideas and understanding of the current teaching of Mathematics. Julietta Guyatt and Garry Bland will represent the teaching staff. Many thanks to those parents who have agreed to participate.
Canteen Reminder
On Thursday, 4th June the canteen will be closed for the recess break while Busy Perritt and the girls attend a course on the provision of healthy canteen meals. The children can make their normal orders and receive them both in the lunch break, but hot food will not be provided for recess.
