Dear Parents,
A famous saying: ‘Time flies when you’re having fun!’ - so Sarah Redfern P.S. must be having barrels of fun because we now find ourselves in the second last week of this semester. Imagine - we are already half way towards 2010. Where did those months go?
Reports
Parents, next week you will be receiving reports on the performance of your children. Please take time to sit with your child and discuss what progress has been made and/or what difficulties are being experienced. If you would like clarification on anything in the report please see the teacher immediately. This could make a tremendous difference to your child’s education, not only for the remainder of the year, but for their future educational performance. Teachers would also like to thank parents for their co-operation this past semester because your child’s education involves three stakeholders – students, parents and teachers.
Breakfast
Daystar Foundation apologises for the absence of breakfast on Monday last week. Due to unforseen circumstances breakfast was not available that morning. However, the canteen ladies came to the rescue on Tuesday. The remainder of the week was catered for and our thanks go to Matthew Roberts and Gisela Harter for coming to the rescue and ensuring that the students were able to face the day with contented stomachs.
Canteen
While we are on the subject of food – I think we all need to applaud ‘Busy’ (an appropriate name) and the canteen staff for their performance. Not only are they providing our school with healthy food, but they have been acknowledged by the Campbelltown Council’s Canteen Inspector for having met all the requirements for a healthy and clean canteen. Thank you ladies.
During the coming months our canteen is going to undergo a ‘makeover’. No the ladies are not having facelifts or new hairstyles, the canteen is going to be refurbished. So, not only will we be able to boast about our gourmet food, we will also have a five star canteen. Wait for further updates.
Wondering what you can do during the holidays? Well, put your heads together and come up with a delicious, healthy new sandwich. Early in Term 3 the canteen will be running a competition called, ‘So you think you can make a sandwich!’. Stay tuned.
Principal Returns
On Thursday we will welcome back our fearless leader, Cheryl McBride, from her holiday. We all hope she had a wonderful break and is back with renewed vigour to take on the next part of 2009.
Have a good fortnight.
Clarice Maclou
Deputy Principal.
